Job Description

Maths, physics, IT and technical drawing are essential and strong academically. Good communicator, capable of communicating your ideas to a wide range of colleagues, many of whom may not have an understanding about Electronics or Electrical Engineering. You will be working with a broad variety of other professionals, including IT specialists, CAD technicians, technicians, and other engineers. Good at solving complex problems, having assessed more than one potential solution. You will be well-organised, with a good understanding of health and safety rules as they apply to electrics, and you will also need to be able to make firm decisions and manage budgets. You will also need to be passionate about your subject, have a sound commercial awareness and be good at planning.

Salary Band 3: £30,000 – £40,000

Location: Old Dalby, Leicestershire Head Office

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Carrying out feasibility studies for new technical innovations · Drawing up plans using computer-assisted engineering and design software
  • Estimating material, construction, and labour costs, and project timescales · Coordinating technicians and craftspeople
  • Testing installations and systems, and analysing data
  • Making sure projects meet electrical and construction safety regulations · Overseeing inspection and maintenance programmes
  • Attending meetings, writing reports, and giving presentations to managers and clients
